Deciding on a Species to Conserve

The insurance firm has decided to focus on conserving the rhinoceros where they are most populous: South Africa. Rhinos are poached (killed) in that country and their horns sold to mainly Chinese and Vietnamese consumers. The firm reached this decision in-part because much of the trafficking in rhino horns is international wherein shipments originate in South Africa and have final delivery locations in Asia. Such international trafficking gives the firm's fraud investigation department opportunities to gather intelligence on shipments and the criminals managing those shipments from many sources including the internet and mobile phone networks.
